MCS, in partnership with Shinescapes, Renovates Dallas Hope Center
National property services leader and regional landscaping company complete exterior and interior property services work to transform space for LGBTQ+ youth community
DALLAS – April 19, 2023 – MCS, the national property services company, and affiliated company SHINEscapes, a Dallas-based commercial landscaping business, announced the completion of extensive interior and exterior construction work refurbishing the Dallas Hope Center, an LGBTQ-focused homeless youth transitional living center serving North Texas.
The Dallas Hope Center serves as a safe shelter environment and transitional living facility for Dallas Hope Charities (DHC), a local nonprofit established to provide food, shelter and healthcare services for the regional LBGTQ+ community.
MCS and SHINEScapes performed the six-month construction project for DHC in partnership with U.S. Bank as part of its Home Pride initiative. Additional partners Dwell with Dignity and Mercedes-Benz Financial USA also supported the project modernizing the property. The extensive work MCS and SHINEScapes provided has completely transformed the Dallas Hope Center, which was in dire need of updates and repairs. The upgraded facility was recently unveiled at a grand opening event held on April 14, 2023.
The exterior property improvements at the Dallas Hope Center overseen by MCS and SHINEScapes included improved landscaping, a new driveway, painting, installing energy-efficient windows, and adding a backyard privacy fence and patio. The building’s foundation was also corrected to avoid further settling issues. The interior work included a new design and personalization of the living spaces, new overhead lighting, and a fresh coat of paint. The kitchen was remodeled which included installing energy-efficient appliances and new cabinets, and new dual laundry washers and dryers were added to accommodate residents.

The Dallas Hope Center is an LGBTQ-focused transitional living program for homeless youth ages 18-24. During the 12-month program, residents are provided a safe, welcoming environment and basic needs where they can learn important life skills necessary to successfully live independent lives. A resident of the newly renovated Dallas Hope Center adds, “The updated house makes me feel safer within the home.”
